Here Fishy Fishy!

So now that I am stuck in the house with nothing to do, I have an excuse to spend all day on the internet! This morning I spent a good hour on Etsy, you know the website where "designers" can sell their handmade goods? Now I know the importance of a great handbag and while it doesn't have to be the newest "It" bag or cost the most, every woman needs a functional, clean fabulous bag! I went through about 17 pages and while I saw a few cute bags, my absolute favorite was from the designer, RandomIntent.

There are so many fabulous things about this bag, I don't know where to start. The head? The eyeballs? The teeth? The lovely gold hardware or the absolute best, the tongue!!!! The only bad thing about this bag is the price, $385.00. Really? Three Hundred Eighty Five Dollars.....For a Fish?

Here is what you could get for less:

Louis Vuitton Small Round Coin Purse $200.00

Gucci Wristlet $380.00

or

13 Manicures and Pedicures (that's a whole year)

100 Caramel Machiattos

I think I'll pass on the fish, but the Gucci is super cute!

What a Deal!

My first Louis Vuitton was a small pochette given to me almost 23 years ago. I didn't know anything about LV so me being me, threw the strap away. I know....fool. I still have it and use it as a make-up bag but have wanted a new one, with the strap for using as a small evening bag. We'll imagine my surprise when last week I was tooling around the second hand stores and came across this!

$38.00

Yes, that is right, $38.00! I am so happy that I found it and I didn't have to pay full price.

The other bag I am loving right now is this Francesca Biasia:

I love the copper and silver accents and the leather is so super soft......but I can't justify buying this just yet as I still have my heart set on those Tory Burch Miller Thongs. Decisions!

Second Opinions

To say I've been busy is an understatement. As you know we spent a week in Newport Beach and did a ton of shopping. The first day we were there was Nordstrom's Annual Anniversary sale and boy did we have fun. I did buy two maxi dresses from Michael Stars, one Marc by Marc Jacobs Messenger bag, three tops and one sweater. I also got my sandals, not the Tory Burch (not paying full price) but did get the Guess Jadakis, 40% off thank you very much! The real fun began when we got home....not.

I'm not one to put personal stuff out there but this I feel is something that everyone can maybe learn from. I had been "diagnosed" with GERD ( Gastroesophageal reflux disease) at least five years ago. It's like a really bad heartburn that sits below your breast bone and stays for a few hours and your stomach gets really bloated. It has to do with diet and stress and I thought mine was diet (different food triggers) so I cut those out of my diet. It still came and went but the last six months or so it has gotten worse, coming to a head last Saturday night. After a wonderful dinner at Joe's Crab Shack I was completely leveled. Not the normal kind of pain, this lasted for the next five days on and off. When we got back from Newport I had one good day with very minimal pain with it returning the next morning in full force. So,I took my ass to the ER. Come to find out, I had a glallstone. A blocked infected gallstone thank you very much. Thursday morning at 8:00 am, I had my Gallbladder removed. Yep, after five plus years thinking I had really bad acid reflux, it had been my gallbladder the whole time. There is a couple of things that suck. First, my doctor referred me to a specialist and I didn't want to go because my insurance wouldn't cover it. Stupid. Second, I should have gotten another opinion because I went back to my doctor a couple of times after the referral and he never caught it, never even looked. It took another doctor a total of four minutes to diagnose me.

The good news is all my other major organs are in great health and now, so am I. Learn from my mistakes. If you feel something is wrong and your doctor doesn't listen, get a second opinion. If your doctor sends you to a specialist....go. I'm lucky, mine didn't burst which could have been lethal. There is nothing more important in this world than your health.

Now on that note, I am off to find those damn Tory Burch sandals at half price!

Waiting.....Waiting....Waiting....

Every summer we make a trip to Newport Beach and do nothing but shop and lay out by the pool. The time is upon us again and I actually prepared a shopping list. First up? I need a pair of cute, semi-dressy pair of thongs. Problem is, choices...too many choices! This is what I usually wear on a day to day basis because they are super comfortable.

Flojos $14.99

This is what I want!

Tory Burch Miller Thongs  $195.00

This is what I will purchase!

Guess Jadakis  $49.00

I'll wait until I get home to scour the internet for the Tory Burch Miller's. No need to pay full price for thongs that are almost $200.00! That's just crazy!

Um, Nice Hair?

Is it just me or does this months issue of Cosmopolitan with Britney Spears on the cover look, well, off? What is the deal with her head? It's like they took an old picture of her with a new picture of her head and smacked them together. All I can think about when I look at this is that kids game, pin the tail on the donkey !

Bling-A-Ling

Coco Sunset by Thad Cline

I'm a big fan of Bravo and all the Real Housewives and with the New Jersey ladies dominating the airwaves at the moment, Monday nights at my house are festive to say the least. I saw this ring on Dina Manzo a few weeks ago and just about choked. For one, it's huge and who doesn't think bigger is better when were talking rings!  Second, and the best, is it's simplistic design. You can wear this anywhere and it just compliments....everything! From the Thad Cline website:

Clean shapes and textural materials make Thad Cline jewelry a necessity for the modern woman.
Each beautiful piece exhibits the handmade craftsmanship that Thad Cline is known for.  The finest materials including Swarovski crystal; precious metals; and semi precious stones collide to create traffic stopping jewelry and accessories.
Thad Cline, a jewelry designer and goldsmith for over twenty years, designs each piece of jewelry to transcend fads and trends.  His designs are stylish and classic with a hip, modern twist allowing the wearer the ability to invigorate her own existing jewelry collection.
“I believe that jewelry is an investment and my designs allow women options for incorporating their own style and flair.  I have always felt that my designs should flow from casual to cocktail and my customers agree.”
Make a bold fashion statement of your own with a beautiful piece of Thad Cline jewelry.

Want to know the best? The price! Under $300.00! Done and done!

My Prada

Thinking of the vacations I have planned always gets me vexed. I know what clothes (too many) to bring I need a refresh in the handbag department. I've had the Prada messenger for years and while I initially carried it as a baby bag, it has become the staple for my travels. I am in desperate need of an upgrade and this is what I am really liking right now.

If I had to choose I would probably pick the Michael Kors Camo bag because it really goes with nothing but how cute is it!

Look at the Shark Jump!

There are two things that I have noticed recently that actually made me want to post, and not in a good way.  You know when you see something when your out that's just make you think, dang girl, what were you thinking?

Ms. Pulitzer,
Animal Crackers, are you kidding me? I can get behind branding yourself but there is something just very wrong in pimping yourself out to kids food. Especially old school kids food....Animal Crackers. I know your line and what you do, but again....animal crackers? Are we supposed to schelack them and use them as home decor? I must be mistaken but I thought your brand was handbags...and linens.....jewelry....home....accessories....stationary....bags.....sunglasses....
stationary...cookies? My bad, I guess there is nothing sacred as long as someones buying.

Oh, and the other thing that is making scratch my head my right now? These.....Shut Up. The 70's called, they don't want them back! I don't even want to say the designers name because I don't want to promote these ridiculous shoes!
